Platypus Junction

Welcome to Platypus Junction, Mt Eliza.

Our warm and friendly centre is surrounded by lovely gardens and play areas and is conveniently located for busy parents. It’s the perfect place for your child’s early learning experience. Platypus Junction was established by Dale and Julie Pearce in the mid 90s. Inspired by their own childcare search they set about creating a more caring and nurturing approach to childcare. Still family-owned and operated, each centre understands the importance of early learning and in particular, learning through play.

We call Platypus Junction the ELC with TLC because children find plenty of Tender Loving Care here. However, it’s not just the care that’s special. Every aspect of your child’s day is well planned and coordinated.

All meals – from breakfast through to dinner if required – are freshly cooked and prepared with love in our own kitchens. Nutritious and delicious! Each centre has a special focus on indoor/outdoor education with bright, light indoor environments and leafy, green outside spaces and gardens. Children can help create their own vegetable patch, planting and picking the fruits (or vegetables) of their labour!

An important part of our being an ELC with TLC extends to our parents. We understand that you need to relax knowing your child is in a safe place receiving the very best early learning possible.

Platypus Junction Mt Eliza currently has a limited number of places available from 3 months to kindergarten.  We’re open every day except Public Holidays from 7am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

As most parents know, caring for children can at times be demanding. That’s why having the right team in place is so important at Platypus Junction – people who understand how vital it is to provide a caring and creative environment for children. We invest a great deal of effort attracting the right members for our Platypus Junction team. They must be special people with not only the best qualifications but also the right qualities. We work hard to create an environment that our team enjoys being a part of, which is also in the best interests of the children.

We’re proud of our team members and we strive to help them build careers in childcare, not just jobs. We encourage and support practical and theoretical training and team building through our training and development initiatives.

Interested in childcare and early learning? We’d love you to meet with and talk to our team members at Platypus Junction. They’re enthusiastic about the way we do things here and they can give you some great insight into the skills your child will develop and the progress they will make at Platypus Junction.
