Cool teens workshop with exhibiting artist and Instagram sensation

Saturday 2 September, 9.30am–1.30pm

Cost $15 per student, suitable for ages 13+
Venue Drop off at MPRG for an artist talk and exhibition walk through, pick up at Mornington Youth Centre, Wilsons Rd, Mornington

Bring a couple of old magazines or photos, an art smock and a snack for morning tea. Water will be provided.

Shake your groove thing with the seriously hip Melbourne-based artist Minna Gilligan in a bright and colourful playground of retro aesthetics and kooky collage. In this practical workshop creative teens will view Gilligan’s artworks in the current MPRG exhibition Mystery to Me and then, under her guidance, make their own dreamy and psychedelic artwork to take home using found photographs, paint and stickers. A shuttle bus transfer to the art room at the Mornington Youth Centre is necessary for the inspired messiness to happen!

Minna is a published artist, has held numerous solo exhibitions and been included in group shows at the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Gallery of Australia, Heide Museum of Modern Art and Alt Space, New York.
