JUMP, SWING, PLAY AND CREATE AT THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE’S LARGEST HORTICULTURAL EVENT, 27-31 MARCH 2019

KIDS UNDER 14 ENTER FREE!

Giant garden playgrounds, flower crown making and life-size snakes and ladders are just a taste of what families can expect at the 24th Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show presented by Lawn Solutions Australia.

From 27-31 March, the enchanting Carlton Gardens will transform into a play-haven for kids of all ages headlined by charity partner Beyond Blue.

The Beyond Blue Charity Garden will feature outdoor playsets to explore, flower crown & tiara making as well as painting and drawing stations for future Monet’s. Face painters will be on hand to match children to their surrounds, creating botanical-inspired designs. Parents can also join in the fun with giant Snakes and Ladders and Jenga games or relax on beanbags in the chill out area.

Funky Monkey Bars will have a swingin’ sets onsite and families can get snapping at the Beyond Blue photo booth to capture special memories of the day. Every child that visits the Charity Garden will be treated with a take-home show bag and visitors can also support Beyond Blue by purchasing a fundraising raffle ticket to win some incredible prizes.

The Nursery and Garden Industry Victoria (NGIV) will debut an all new educational kids zone, encouraging little ones to get their hands dirty with pot planting, along with a bike installation where children can pedal to generate a water supply for their plants.

The NGIV Precinct will feature the ultimate hide-and-seek site with a bamboo forest tunnel, a climbable log fort, workshops exploring the microscopic world of mini-beasts and the intricate layers of worm farms.

Green Connections will excite visitors with an interactive and stimulating multisensorial play area, where future David Attenborough’s can connect with plants, natural materials and learn from the surrounding environment.

The Diggers Club will host a sensory extravaganza in the gardens, where children can sample delicious heirloom fruits, explore a mini pumpkin field, count the colours of the rainbow in the veggie patch and frolic with clucking chickens.

The Great Hall of Flowers in the Royal Exhibition Building will be a world of pure imagination with The Plant Society’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, inspired indoor plant installation alongside a giant palace fallen into disrepair.
