According to our recent census data, the number of Australians experiencing homelessness has increased by 13.7% in the last 4 years. Of the 116,427 people known to be experiencing homelessness, 42% are under 25.
Sleep In Your Car is an annual event during Homelessness Week; Join us in Mornington Park, begin to consider what it means to experience life without a home in our community and raise the crucial funding to prevent and support young people experiencing homelessness.
How can you help?
Drop in for dinner or stay the whole night.
- Register to sleep out and get sponsored by your friends and family
- Come down to Mornington park and enjoy the community event making a donation of $5 towards our fundraising goal.
- Sponsor yourself or a friend
By registering to sleep out for one night, you can provide a home for our youth! Gather your friends and family and register today. Sleep in your car or sleep rough in designated areas.
From 5:30pm – 10:00pm come have a meal with local food trucks, live music, learn from local service providers, pop-up art gallery, an interactive kids zone and ‘The Walk Without Home’ an experiential learning program developed by the Fusion Mornington Peninsula team. There is truly something for everyone. So come and find out how you can help be the hope in your neighbourhood.
Everything you raise will be provide the crucial funding to support and prevent local young people experiencing homelessness through the work of Fusion Mornington Peninsula.
