Welcome to Guling (Orchid Season) Indigenous cultures have long interpreted changes in the seasons through careful observation of local plants and animals. In this season’s Indigenous program, families are invited to explore the many changes in the plants growing in the Australian Garden and surrounding bushland during guling (orchid season).

Search for flowering native orchids, learn how some fungi and orchids nurture each other and investigate the beautiful details of winter blooms and fungi under a microscope. Get your hands dirty while planting seeds and create nature-inspired artwork to take home.
