I’m after a recommendation of a good moderately priced, kid friendly winery to take the extended family to for Saturday lunch for my birthday. I’d like somewhere we can eat outside, the kids can run around, the menu not be too fancy, but good quality food and overall relaxed fun atmosphere – not asking for much I know!
Stonier for a picnic (they only do cheese platters, so youd have to bring your own picnic) they have an outdoor playground and heaps of room for kids to play footy or run around. TGallant is great too, but no areas as such for the kids to run free. – Andy Q
By far Tucks Ridge! Beautiful stunning scenery, a good menu but not “fancy”, kid friendly with lots of open spaces! If you look up the suggestions on most vineyard websites will be listed menus to help make your decision. – Alicen H
Pier 10 is lovely and relaxed. – Sharelle B
Main Ridge in Red Hill. – Scott M
Apparently the Green Olive in Main Ridge. Their website mentions kid friendly, and the have a huge trampoline. Check out their website. I haven’t been there yet, but it was recommended to me.
Montalto pizzeria (outside) is great for moderately priced food (pizza, chick wings, other easy yummy stuff), great wine and the kids have plenty of room to play on the grounds. My fav!
The Heritage is great for kids, large area to run around, and food priced ok, but I don’t really rate the food.
Box Stallion is great for kids, I can’t remember price or menu but it’s nice. Sit in or out.
T’gallant isn’t great for kids, no real area to play, but nice pizza and price. Hope this helps a bit? – Rebecca G
Green Olive is a beautiful setting with space and a trampoline, but the menu isn’t great and nothing for kids on it.

I just recently went to the Green Olive for my birthday lunch. Kids had so much fun in the sprinklers, running around and the under ground trampoline. And then a group of horses and their riders stopped by, and my girls loved it. The lamb backstrap is yum as well as the sausages. More tapas type meals, but really delish. – Nicki K

Hickinbotham was great. We went there for my sister’s birthday with kids. Great food, reasonably priced, great outside area. Horses that the kids can feed. I think it was a Sunday arvo and they had a band. We ended up getting up and doing the “hokey pokey” with the kids that they had requested themselves! Great staff too. – Annette F
