Help your kids create a personalised gift, straight from the heart, by putting together an easy D.I.Y. chalkboard – which they can decorate themselves and add a special message.

Materials:
- MDF Board
- Chalkboard paint
- Decorations
- Glue
- Masking tape
- Chalk
Steps:
Step 1: Tape up the frame
Masking tape makes it easy to create a straight border to frame your chalkboard.
Step 2: Paint on the chalkboard
Coat the board with chalkboard paint using a paint brush.
Tip: use top to bottom brush stokes to produce a neat and clean finish
Step 3: Remove the tape
Wait for the chalkboard paint to dry and then remove the masking tape from around the edges to reveal your frame.
Step 4: Decorate the frame
It’s time to get creative! Use your decorations such as beads, glitter and paint, to decorate the frame of your chalkboard in any way you like.
Step 5: Write a message
Now that your chalkboard is complete, why not write a lovely message on it!
