Alpina Street Early Learning Centre is a family-owned and operated childcare and kindergarten in Frankston North, providing education and care from infancy through to school.
Set in a quiet street alongside a beautiful local reserve, Alpina Street offers children something increasingly special – space to explore, discover, take on challenges and enjoy childhood.
Our large natural outdoor environments are a big part of who we are. Indoor-outdoor learning, active play, nature, exploration and real-world experiences are woven throughout our programs, giving children the freedom to follow their curiosity while developing confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning.
Nursery – A gentle beginning
Our 12-place Nursery provides a smaller, nurturing environment where babies are cared for by a close and consistent team of educators.
With children close in age, our educators are able to provide a specific infant program that responds to the unique developmental needs, routines and interests of babies during this important stage.
Indoor and outdoor play is part of every day, allowing our youngest children to explore their environment, build secure relationships and develop confidence at their own pace.
Toddlers – Curiosity, movement & adventure
Our two Toddler rooms are designed for busy, curious minds.
At this age, children want to move, investigate, test ideas and find out what they can do. Our indoor and outdoor environments provide plenty of opportunities for exploration, physical challenges, messy play, creativity and supported risky play.
Educators encourage children to have a go, make choices, solve problems and build independence, while providing the security and relationships they need as they navigate this exciting stage of development.
3-Year-Old Kindergarten – Discovering a love of learning
Our 3-Year-Old Kindergarten program continues to build the foundations for learning and development within a social group environment.
Children are provided with a wide variety of experiences designed to spark curiosity, encourage friendships and develop a love of learning and discovery.
Through play, projects, group experiences, outdoor learning and excursions into our local community, children begin to see that learning happens everywhere.
The program supports growing independence, communication, emotional development, problem-solving and confidence while preparing children for their next year of kindergarten.
4-Year-Old Kindergarten – Confident learners, ready for school
Our Kindergarten program focuses on developing confident, capable learners who are ready for their transition to school.
School readiness is about much more than knowing letters and numbers. We focus on independence, resilience, communication, friendships, problem-solving, confidence and helping children see themselves as successful learners.
Excursions and experiences beyond the centre extend children’s learning and help them connect with the wider community.
We also value our strong relationships with local primary schools, supporting children and families as they prepare for the move from kindergarten to school and helping make that transition as positive and familiar as possible.
Growing with your child
From a baby’s first experiences in our Nursery, through the adventurous toddler years and into our Kindergarten programs, children are supported by educators who know them, value them and understand where they are in their learning journey.
We believe children learn best when they feel safe, connected and confident. Our programs provide the time, space and experiences for children to play deeply, build meaningful relationships, explore their interests and discover what they are capable of.
