“When will my baby sleep through the night?” It’s a question almost every new parent asks at some point.
Babies’ sleep patterns are very different from adult sleep, and waking during the night is a normal part of infant development. Babies wake for feeding, comfort, closeness and reassurance, and breastfeeding can be a very effective way of helping a baby settle back to sleep.
We’ll talk about what normal baby sleep can look like, how sleep changes as babies grow, breastfeeding and night feeds, recognising tired cues and gentle settling strategies such as feeding, holding, rocking, patting, walking and babywearing.
There is no single “right” way to manage your baby’s sleep. Come along to share what’s happening in your household, ask questions and explore realistic strategies that work for your baby and your family.
