When the weather is freezing cold and raining or stinking hot, Kidz Shed Play Centre is the place to bunker down indoors.

We have worked incredibly hard to build Kidz Shed into a play centre that is affordable for families to love and enjoy. We’re passionate about what we do and we are dedicated to providing a fun, friendly, safe and clean environment for our customers.

We have various play areas for all ages ranging from 0 – 12 years. While parents can relax, children can enjoy our multi-level climbing play structure, 3 lane wave slide, spiral tunnel slide, ball pit, ride on’s and a fenced toddler soft play area. Our cafe offers a wide variety of food options, ranging from breakfast all day, burgers with the lot, to the most amazing pizza’s. Catering for allergies is our speciality – we have an extensive range of gluten free products available as well as vegetarian and dairy free. Oh and did we mention our coffee is pretty good too! We stock internationally renowned Lavazza coffee and also serve the very popular ‘Prana Chai’.

We pride ourselves on cleanliness, so we have hand sanitisers throughout the play centre and our play equipment is regularly cleaned and sanitised. Adults and Children are required to wear socks at all times. Kidz Shed is wheelchair friendly and we have baby changing facilities.

Head over our website @ kidzshed.com.au

‘Hayley’ … Lots of toys and obstacles for toddlers and children. Will visit again soon.

‘Brendan Bunting’ … Great amount of food for a party unlike other play centres. Good setup and lovely staff.

‘Vivivenne Hopkins’ … Love it and my grand daughter had a fabulous time. Service was excellent.

‘Kerrie Dehne’ … Massive Thank you to the staff at the kids shed today we had my son birthday party there and they were fantastic.

I cant recommend them highly enough. They made it so easy for me and a great experience for my son and his friends

‘Candice Elliot’ … A huge thank you to the staff at the kidz shed for hosting my sons birthday party and ensuring all of the children had an amazing time. I’m especially grateful to the chef who went above and beyond to accomodate my sons’ gluten intolerance. We are so lucky to have such a well run play centre with excellent coffee and food in Hastings.

‘Ben Aspland’ … We recently held a dual birthday for our two girls ages 6 and 8 at Kidz Shed Hastings. It was an after hours party on a Friday night (16:00 – 18:00) and we had the entire place to ourselves, just perfect for the 30+ kids and their parents.

The facility itself is really clean and well setup with everything you would expect from a new play centre. The food was awesome and the price per head was fantastic considering the quantity and quality of the food. The pizzas were amazing and the adult food options are plentiful. The venue hire price was extremely reasonable also and cheaper than Crocs or Chipmunks.

There was also the bonus of having the food prepared on site by the staff and no requirement to clean the place afterwards, as some other play centres make you do.

The kids devoured everything that was served up but we still had food left at the end of the night. We had catered for 30 but there were more than that eating, not to mention myself and some of the other adults enjoying the pizzas and party pies as well.

Aside from the fun the kids had, the parents were kept happy with the excellent quality coffee and grown up food. The staff took care of everything for us and ensured the eating area was constantly stocked with drinks and food as well as fresh cups and plates throughout the night.

The night was nothing short of spectacular and our girls had their best birthday celebration to date. Thank you everyone at Kidz Shed Hastings, we can’t recommend you highly enough.

‘Dayna Nicholas’ … My new fave hangout… and the kids love it too! Clean. Good coffee. Healthy food options. The place is big enough for the kids to enjoy, but small enough for me to not stress about losing them. And the equipment is actually big enough for parents to fit through without doing our backs. Well worth the short drive from Mornington – I know where I’ll be spending my winter days!

‘Rhys Battisson’ … Fantastic service from the whole team at Kidz Shed. Can’t begin to explain how much we love coming here regularly, not only is the centre kept in great condition but the staff are AMAZING. Continuously making sure everything is spot on, the food is spot on, it tastes amazing and is made fresh to order. Will continue coming back very regularly, and will be having future parties here as well

‘Diablo James’ … We were grateful for Lisa’s generosity and impressed with the professionalism of the staff when we celebrated our son’s birthday at Kidz Shed Indoor Play Centre and Café. The facilities were clean and tidy, the food was excellent and the service was superb. Thank you

‘Joshua Westoby’ … Absolutely amazing, clean playground for my boys, reasonable priced, the staff are lovely and the consideration for people with serious allergies is very much appreciated.

‘Karen Procter’ … Went there for the first time today and my 5 year old son was so so very excited when I told him there was lots of Gluten-free options and that he didn’t have to just have chips or what we took for him. The staff was fantastic food was great. We will for sure be returning.

‘Alyssa Peebles’ … Kidz Shed is fantastic! Always clean, amazing coffee, friendly staff and fun indoor and outdoor areas. Will return again and again and again!

No Food Shaming.

If you grew up in the ‘80s, ‘90s, or early 2000’s, chances are you were taught to see food through a moral lens: veggies were “good,” chocolate was “bad,” and fat was something to fear. That messaging stuck.

So now, when you reach for a bag of chips after a long day or say yes to dessert, a quiet voice in the back of your mind is likely to whisper: “You shouldn’t.” You feel like you’ve done something wrong – simply for eating something you enjoy. And here’s the thing: our kids are watching. They’re listening. The way we talk about food becomes the way they relate to it.

If you want to raise confident eaters, it’s time to let go of the “good” vs “bad” food narrative and allow your kids to enjoy food without guilt or shame. Let’s be real; some foods are more nutrient-dense than others. But that doesn’t mean that we need to rank them on a scale. Instead of calling food “good” or “bad”, try talking about how it fits into the bigger picture of what our bodies need.

Read on for a few ways to reframe the conversation:

The Myth of the Perfect Parent
Somewhere along the way, we’ve been sold this idea that good parenting means never messing up. That if we just try hard enough, read the right books, and avoid raising our voices, we’ll somehow unlock the secret to raising perfectly adjusted children. But here’s the truth which I finally accepted: there is no perfect way to parent. There are only good days and bad days. There are moments when you handle things beautifully and moments when you yell something ridiculous like, “WHY ARE YOUR SHOES IN THE FRIDGE?” There are times when you feel like a hero and times when you feel like a complete failure. And that’s okay.

Nothing quite prepares you, as a parent, for the moment your child stops being able to hold it all together. The sudden collapse of the smile, the spark, the motivation. The moment when their pain no longer hides behind school routines and friendships, and instead spills into the home in the most heartbreaking of ways. And yet, stories like these are quietly unfolding in homes and schools everywhere.
