Put a smile on dad’s face this Father’s Day with a handmade shed sign he can hang it up in his workshop.
Tools:
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Glue
- Pen
- Scissors
Materials:
- Board
- Nuts and bolts
- Foam card
- Picture hanging strips
- Newspaper
Step 1. Paint a board
Take the wood board and paint it your dad’s favourite colour
Step 2. Print template
While you’re waiting for the board to dry, print out the DAD’S WORKSHOP template, which you’ll find below.
Step 3. Trace letters onto foam
Cut the letters out of the template with your scissors and trace them onto the foam card.
Step 4. Cut out foam letters
Now use your scissors to cut all the letters out of the foam card.
Step 5. Glue letters to board
Glue the letters to the painted side of your board to make up the words.
Step 6. Glue down nuts and bolts
Take your nuts and bolts and glue them down around the words and leave to dry.
Step 7. Attach hanger
Take a picture hanging strip and stick the velcro sides together.
Peel the back off one side and stick the hanging strip on the back of the board. When Dad’s ready, he can peel the back off the other side and stick the sign up in his shed.
This is just one design but you can come up with your own or add different ornaments around the letters.
